The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has launched a one-time property tax amnesty initiative called Sumpattikar Niptaan Yojana (SUNIYO) 2025-26. It offers property owners a unique opportunity to settle their tax dues with no interest or penalties, provided they pay the principal for the current year and the five preceding years.

  • Payment Period: From June 1 to September 30, 2025.

  • Payment Structure: Pay dues only for FY 2025-26 plus the past five financial years (2020-21 to 2024-25). All arrears prior to FY 2020-21, including interest and penalty, are waived.

  • Open to All: Applicable to residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional properties within MCD jurisdiction. Even those with previous litigation can participate after submitting an undertaking.

  • Rebate Option: Non-defaulters can get a 10% rebate on lump-sum payment by July 31, 2025. Additional 20% discount for women and senior citizens.

  • Optional User Charge: From June 1, the garbage user charge has become optional, simplifying tax payments.

  • Help Camps: Over 2,300 assistance camps organized across the city for easy filing and compliance.
